QUICK MINDSET SHIFTS TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

You can improve your entire life simply with the power of your mind. Making small simple shifts to your mindset and the way you look at the world, can result in huge changes in your circumstances and ultimately shape your future. In this guide, we will explore several different ways you can shift your mindset to improve the quality of your life. Various examples will be provided and a practical exercise to complete for each of the different mindset shifts outlined.

Your mind is where your thoughts are generated, information is received and processed, and instructions provided to your body to undertake certain tasks or perform various functions. It’s important to note that your thoughts are extremely powerful and can influence what you experience in life. You have the power to change your thoughts at any moment in time, which then determines your future.

In order to live life in an optimal way, it’s important to use your mind to assist you with daily functions, instead of allowing it to hinder you through things like over-thinking certain situations, worrying about things that happened in the past, or becoming anxious about things that may or may not happen in the future. In order to create your ideal life, it first begins in your mind with your beliefs and thoughts, so having a healthy mindset is paramount to living your best life.

Your mind is incredibly powerful and if you harness its power effectively you can do, be or have anything you want in this lifetime. Your brain contains around 100 billion nerve cells, or neurons, that make up your central nervous system. These neurons transmit and receive electrochemical signals, which are basically your thoughts, emotions, actions and the automatic functions of your body.

Imagine you have a computer in your head that controls everything you do and creates your physical reality (i.e. your surroundings and what you experience in life). Your brain is the computer hardware – it has all the power connections, wiring, storage, memory and processing power you need to function. Your mind is the computer software – it’s the operating system that gathers, stores and manages information, using the massive processing resources of your brain. Your brain and mind are inseparable, part of the same entity and can’t operate without each other.

Your mind can be divided into your conscious mind which controls around 95% of your life, and subconscious mind (or unconscious mind), which controls around 5% of your life. Once you know how your mind works, it gives you much more control over how to use the combined power of your conscious and subconscious minds to not only think in a more healthy, flexible and resilient way, but to be in a position to change your life in a dramatic way and create your ideal future.
